Apologies for not being round here much lately, i've litterally been working on several Lane projects... morning, day, and night lately.... i need 50 hour long days to try and get through all that i'm trying to do at the moment.... but when i'm done, with all of the projects i'm working on, there'll be some nice things to show for it (to everyone). For anyone who's asked me to clock clips lately, real sorry if i missed any, just gimme a couple of weeks and i'll try and get back to doing some. Don't worry about it...can't wait to see the finished projects Also, that Guthrie Govan transcription of Get You Back should arrive tomorrow

Hello Willjay! I saw your list in Guitar World - well done on getting in such a major guitar publication I have a few good bootlegs of various guitarists that could make the list - they tend to be a lot faster in a live enviroment! If you like, I can post some for you, I have some very cool recordings buried in here Here's a clip of Yngwie Malmsteen I got from another forum - it sounds very fast, could be faster than the current speed you have him down for, you never know www.turboupload.com/download/cxEmh3QQs6We/yngwiepicking.wavYour Shawn Lane video channel is fantastic, by the way! Cult Of Personality melted my face! Take care shredsickle

Dude, no matter what the rumor mill on internet message boards says, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who can play at 10-12 NPS cleanly. And I'm talking about pro guitarists. I mean, maybe there's a lot who can tremelo a single note at 12-14 nps, but speaking from personal experience, there are very, very few guitarists who can pick---hell, even play!---sixteenths at 180bpm + and be clean. There's a lot of people who like to say 'oh I can play at 12 nps' but really, all they can do is rip out a single repitive lick ((sloppily, most of the time)) that fast. That doesn't mean you can play at that speed folks! It means you know one rinky dink lick at that speed. The real monsters on guitar can play most anything at their real speed... Duh! These guys are famous and revered for a reason. They are the cream of the crop. And that's at 14-16 nps. I suppose there's only one Shawn Lane ((18 nps!! wtf?!)) So, I mean 32 nps is just...hahahahahahahahahahaha!

Not if we talk alternate picking. Can be nice to hear anyway. Any chance that anyone can reupload it? I also missed it.

Hey Willjay, are you starting to get into clocking speeds again? If so I finally got around to getting a clip of that Dave Kilminster picking I mentioned a couple of pages back. www.savefile.com/files/1812809And also I might have that Yngwie picking clip in my documents...if I looked at this thread I probably downloaded it and still have it there I'll keep you posted! Cheers

Hellllo randall padilla can hit 22 notes per second I think he should be added... Not on myyyyyy watch! I've already proven (by slowing his video clips down) that even when he plays his runs with the metronome set to 220bpm, his picking hand/thumb still only moves up and down about 14 times per second.... so he's not even coming CLOSE to actually 'picking' every note at that speed. What a fraud! (i have science on my side to prove it, but he won't listen).

Ha ha, I think it's safe to assume he was joking since he took the piss out of him in a different thread.
I think I should be in the list, only because I do favours for Willie for no return.......

Hey Willjay, have you ever clocked Ritchie Blackmore or Michael Schenker? Those guys were and still are pretty fast and clean, especially for the early 70's!

Nope...they do slur notes a lot of the time, but they go on some note-for-note picking barrages sometimes. Blackmore more so than Schenker. Especially at the end of the solo of Burn

I have heard Uli Jon Roth tear up some super fast shredds have you ever done anything by him? Like the skyguitar stuff or even some old scorps
