Hey everyone. I am relatively new to the shred scene and i am enjoying playing at pace and the sound. It's such a buzz.Anyways i was wondering what are the best or main scales that make shred sound goood. Thanks  P.S Michael Angelo is the greatest!!! ;D

I'm not totally sure what Michael uses most of the time, but thats cos im not very up on my theory at the moment.
There are a consistent patterns going on in speed lives, but im not sure myself what modes etc. are being used.
Maybe its the Hungarian Gypsy Scale backed up with the Iwato scale with a double Harmonic minor to top it off ;D

I usualy use the Dorian mode alot for shreding in.

yeha there are no particulars i dont think, jsut depends on key. try screwing around wiht some different modes and see which you prefer. I often use good old aeolian
