Hey Mike, i was checking out Francesco Fareris site a few mins ago and i notcied it had a quote from you '' this cd is non-stop pure in your face shred guitar from begining to end '' I was wondering what you think of Fareri? Personally i htink hes a really talented guitar player but he needs to lay off the shredding every now and again and add some more melodic elements. Even you cant jsut sit and listen to a whole album which is nothing but shred for ninety mins? Youre songs are totally different because they have slow, melodic, moving parts. Anywya, sorry to rant on, i was jsut wondering

I thought I was being helpful to unknown guitarists by giving them quotes when they asked me for them. I don't do this at all anymore. O.K.- got to use this new one. There, I did it.

Not to start controversy but I don`t see what the fuss is about Francesco Fareri. You get guys like Michael Angelo, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai and Paul Gilbert who SHRED and kick severe ass. I`m a shredder myself but I don`t see what the appeal is with Francesco Fareri. Not to bad mouth the guy I`m sure he`s very talented etc etc but his music reeks :oS In the same way that you have death metal bands who in their quest to become `the heaviest` have become a complete musical joke, in Fareri`s quest to become `the fastest` he seems to have done the same. All musical elements seem to have been removed to make way for an atonal non-stop shredding blitz. With that guitar tone too you can`t really make out anything he`s playing either. Does he use any particular scales or just blitz chromatically? It sounds like at the speed he`s playing he seems to be making a stack of mistakes but just leaving them on the record anyway. Can you imagine seeing him play a gig?!
p.s. that solo in `Freight Train` in freakin` wild! Rock on! When u next in London?

Welcome to the forum Mick hope you sign up its a good place to be. As for Francesco I don't think he knows what vibrato means As Mick said if he didn't spend all his time trying to be the fastest then he could achive alot more.

After I posted my last message regarding this thread I looked at FF's site. The quote is not mine. It is a review of FF's CD written by our webmaster. We bought a small quantity of his CDs to sell and promote at our website.

Maybe his music ***s, but man can he play a guitar! If we all send emails to him saying for him to add melodic parts into his songs, for all we know he will make amazing music. I personally cant stop watching suspension. It sounds crap but its fun to watch being performed

I personally cant stop watching suspension. It sounds crap but its fun to watch being performed couldnt agree more hes amazing to watch. Give him a few years to realise sweeps arnt everything and hell make music. About death metal, are you even a fan of death metal? Becuase if not then dont say tis ***e or whatever based purely on stereotyping, unless you can appreciate it for what it is then dont bother trying. Also i beleive you are talking about black metal, not death metal, and it is no joke, far from it. I appreciate there are the one opr two bands who are jsut in it to take the piss but the rest are genuine and are proud of the music they write. Sorry for the bad language abvove but this is close to my heart, i hate people who steretype ofther genres of music because they dont like it.

Death Metal has some amazing musicians
For example bands like Cynic, Athiest, Death, Pestilence, Martyr These come under the bracket of Technical Death Metal which is my favourite type of death metal
