They still make the death metal pedal, its the metal zone they dont make anymore. The death metal replaced the metal zone, and it exactly the same, apart from the fact that you cannot change the amount of distortion on it, which is bad, because it has too much. The metal zone was perfect, with the gain on about half, it sounded so amazing, you wont believe it.

I have a Pro Co Rat 2 pedal that I have owned for 20 years! I love the thing! Not only does it sound realy good, but with the solid metal construction, the darn thing is virtualy indistructable! I see they have some new products, the ducetone looks realy intresting!!!! I never thought I'd give up my "Rat", but now I could have 2 in one box! I'll have to price one out ;D

I've got all boss pedals including the MT-2 metal zone. ive had it for 2 years and the thing kicks ass, they all do. but the phase shifter seems to lower my volume slightly.

Line 6 uber metal is KILLER!!!!
I'm not one for using gain pedals, i'm kinda an amp purist, but I must say, some sounds can only come from pedals and I use those sounds more an effects, they never get more than a minute or so use during a gig.
I also have an Ibanez smashbox, tubescreamer (low model), and other various cheep DoD and boss pedals. Honestlly, if anyone here can spare 60 bucks look at the MXR "Blue Box." It recreates your signal two octaves down, then adds fuzz. You can control the blend of octave and natural. The great part is that it isn't an actual signal processor so it REALLY doesn't like multiple string notes, but that makes techniques you can do with it REALLY fun. You can get weird things going on if you do two string bends. Very kool stuff. But very soon I'm also going to buy a Boss octave and that will get more use than my blue box, but I would trade my blue box for anything, it VERY unique.
