My parents bough me a Yamaha EG-112 at a Club Price Costco (I'm from Quebec so I don't know if you know what place i'm talkning about lol), It was a beginer set with a 15 watt amp a strap, picks and aguitar of course. Now I own a Fender Stratocaster.

..like michael says.."take the bull by it's horns" ...starting with an electric could have it's advantages..some people start w/ acoustics and then later claim they only wanna be "rythem guitarist"..only b/c all they learn to play is chords..soloing is pretty hard on an acoustic (but i do agree with you on the strings being thinker that is better for breaking in your finger tips) I dont find that its much harder to solo on an acoustic guitar. I taught myself sweep picking on an acoustic to ensure that I was pressing all the strings hard enough and clean enough. Has its advantages imo

First guitar I had I bought with my own money, it was a Ibanez GAX 70. It was slightly played, and the action was a bit high, so I had it "repaired" by the dude who came with me to buy it, (man the seller was really dropping his jaw to the floor when that dude began playing Dream Theater ) he took off the nek and put a piece of my credit card between the body and nek before he bolted it back on so the action was better.

Peavey Predator - red and white strat look-alike. I think it came in a combo package with a little amp.

A cheapo red squier strat when I was about 8. I didn't really play it though till I started college 2 years ago when I picked it up again. Then I bought a cherry sunburst epiphone les paul which I only really started playing seriously about 3 months ago.

My first guitar was a Fender Telecaster USA import, it plays like a dream and the pinched harms I achieve on them would give Zakk Wylde a run for his money

2 guitarists that start with lp ? wtf ? Well hell, if you're gonna do something you might as well do it right... ;D I *tried* to start on a LP but my parents thought I'd get bored of it within a week and got me a squier affinity strat... probably was very wise on their part as I managed to pretty much destroy it and if I'd killed a LP I'd have to spend forever repenting... still really sad as it was a decent guitar for the price imho. The electrics need some work as I turned the tone pots too hard and I think it snapped the wire inside. I was a very stupid child in some respects... I was probably pissed off because I couldn't play it or something :/ It's also dinged majorly, but that happened when I lent it to a "friend" :< It still plays though, just without any control over the tone. It shouldn't be too hard to fix if I ever have some time to get inside it... (God... you can tell I'm meant to be doing work when I start going off on one randomly like this!)

Small taste big wallet ;D ;D ;D J/K *glowers* LPs are <3 <3 <3 ! I got mine pro set up today and fell in love with it again It's still rattling a little though so it's going back tomorrow... but it plays soo much easier than before, I hope he can fix the rattle without borking the action.

LP, PRS etc. vs. kramer, Jackson etc.
Some guys prefers classy Wall Street chicks, but I think they are stiff, boring and snoppy. I think the sluts are loads more fun ;D ;D ;D
