I am experimenting with the EQ settings on my amp. I have always had it set at the following Bass = 10 Middle = 0 Treble = 10 I like the chunkyness (is that a word : but now that I have been working on some lead parts it doesn't (SING) the way I would like it too. Any suggestions? I am willing to experiment, but need a starting point.

Turn the Bass down slightly that should help, do you have any extras pedals also?

On the rat, I have the distortion set anywhere from half to full, the filter at off , and the volume either so it is balanced to where the pedal is bypassed or just a little above. I also set the amp's master volume to 10 and then adjust the volume setting for how much damage I want to do to my eardrums (or if my wife is home)

Here is where I get embarrassed. I have a Roland Spirit 10A practice amp that I have had for over 20 years. It is a nice little amp and puts out a lot of sound for its size.

Nothing to get embarrassed man, is all you have ok, i wished i have had that when i was 14 years old, anyway is this is all you have practice with ok you i guess the eq settings depend of the amp you have for the only reason of the quality of the amp probably some people will say all the EQ'S are the same sorry but no so just give a try to your settings on the EQ'S KNOB and see what give you a better sound, anyway work with the middle a little bit

These are my settings on my amp. Bass=10 mid=4.5 treb=6 I like different eq settings for lead and rythem but I don't have and eq pedal at the moment so in my oppinnon this has the best balence of sound for both lead and rythem for straight out of the amp sound.

Did you get a chance to mess with your amp settings? Did you find a sound you liked?

Didn't get a chance to play with it. I had to take my daughters to an Easter egg hunt, went grocery shopping and then started to cook Saturday afternoon – evening and again Sunday for Easter dinner. (I love to cook). Almost everything was from scratch. ;D After dinner, we assembled the trampoline my parents got the girls for Christmas (this was one of the first warm days up here). Sunday night I was bushed.

Sure!!! We had Ham (just about the only thing that I didn't make - Honey baked) I made Shrimp ***tail (starting with uncooked shrimp that I de-veined and then broiled) Not to mention I made the ***tail sauce from scratch. A spinach and artichoke dip from scratch Caesar salad (yes, I made the dressing) Baked Beans (an old family recipe) Baked sweat potatoes, (which I boiled, mashed and then baked with brown sugar and crushed pecans and marshmallows on top) Cheddar biscuits (again, from scratch) Mom made the Deviled Eggs. To finish everything off… I made a homemade coconut cream pie!

I know this is an old thread... but someone else was asking about amp eq settings. I have made a few adjustments and have found a setting that I have not touched in a week (so I must like it ) Here are the settings on the Roland: Volume (pre-amp) = 5.2 Master (output) Volume = Between 1 and 3 when practicing Bass = 8 Middle = 6.5 Treble = 9.5 Thanks to everyone for there help.
