Sorry for not posting this in the official gear thread, but im new to this forum, and this is my first post, and I couldnt find out how to post a reply to a thread, just how to start one. Anyway, my question is about the guitar that Michael plays in the Speed Lives DVD. Its the Dean guitar that is shaped sort of like an Ibanez, has a black outer color on the body, and a dark red inner color, and has EMG-HZs. Its the guitar hes playing for most of the segment. I wish I could describe it better, but if youve seen it you know what one im talking about. Anyway, I was interested in a Dean guitar for my next, and was wondering, is this a custom guitar he is playing, or if not, what is the model? I searched all over but couldnt find it anywhere, which leads me to believe its either custom or they dont make it anymore. If its a custom, and I cant purchase it, what would be a good Dean guitar with similar qualities that I should look into? Thanks alot

The guitar is a Dean Custom 450 with the tiger eye finish. the one he uses has an H H setup, though. Unfortunately I couldn't point you to a dealer to find one of these, but I'm sure someone else here will be able to. Hope that helps. Also - I think theres another thread about this guitar already, too if you look around for it a bit.

Firstly welcome to the forum dude And also I was under the impression that the speed lives guitar pictured above was no longer in production? Am I hearing wrong rumors? Also I cant seem to find it on the Dean guitars website.

Thanks for all the replies guys!! I first checked basstreble.com, and they didn't have one, so I googled it, and found it on www.guitarshop.net incase anyone is interested. Im happy to see its in my price range. This guitar isn't on the Dean website, so I'm guessing it was discontinued? If its discontinued, how long do you guys think it will still be available for sale brand new? I better hurry up and save some money and get one.

Id call Bass&Treble anyway, never bout anything, but the consensus on the dean forum is that hes the man with the best prices and service.

heres the little beast: I wanted to at least play one before buying my banez last year. But Deans trouble is that their distribution is up the creak and theres bugger all places to buy them!

Never played a Dean. I bought this extremely nice ESP in a pawn shop that was about $1000 retail but the pawn shop guy had no idea so he was selling it for $150 and after the transaction was said and done I told him what it was worth and he didnt seem to share my enthusiasm on my new purchase.
