Hey, just wanted to know what you think of that brand ? I actually have one, and I think it's an awesome one for... a first amp ;D.
Have you ever tested some Mr Angelo Batio ?

I've been contemplating getting a V-AMP Pro modeling preamp for quite some time now, I've tested it a few times and it seems like a great unit, especially for the price. I've also played through a Behringer 4x12, crystal clear sound. As far as I can see, Behringer makes quality products for reasonable prices, which gives them a " " in my book. ;D

A friend of mine has a GMX 212 V-tone (maybe its 210, I don't remember.. ) but, I liked how it sounded, the overall quality of the digital effects was pretty impressive, although I rarely use them. The V-tones in general seem like a nice line of amps.

I've used a bunch off Behringer gear over the Years....Compressors, mixers, headphone amps, Di Boxes, ADA converters etc. and for the money I like most of it. Their stuff is rather transperent, but doen't have much character. The bulit quality is not alway very good so You have to be a little carefull with some of there stuff, not to break of knops or something.

In terms of the sounds the V-amp produces, I think they're slightly under the PODs (for me anyway). However, they are usually a little cheaper so there ya go

The V-Amp Pro is the best bang for the buck on the market imho.. I have a V Pro and a Pod Pro in my rack.. The Pod Pro pretty much collects dust these days.

I HATE behringer. As it's know it the studio biz "hey, if it works, kool you're lucky." They're known as "one gig wonders" by live sound techs. mostly because of this one reason, wich is the reason they're so cheep.
They have NO quality control. No inspection, nothing. The other thing they do to get thier prices down is they do rotating assembly. Everyone makes one piece of gear for a month then they switch. And they also ship out in massive quantity, so when something is in stock there are tons of them, but they're not in stock odds are there won't be any for a while because you have to wait for that production cycle to come around again, but for thier high profile items like th vamp that probly would be that long.
The problem with behringer on the quality side is the same problem as with many other cheep products. It might sound fine, but does it sound great? And if doesn't sound great it's just a stepping stone anyways, so why buy it? And from what i've experienced, most of thier gear is bottom of the barrel type stuff anyways. Sure thier DI boxes are half price, but in a clutch, you have to buy two incase one doesn't work. Why would you want to put your faith into a company like that?
