I tried to do an Eddie Van Halen type of thing, cause I don't have $2,300 for a real EVH signature Charvel. So I went down to the hardware store and bought some 1/4 inch and 1/8 inch vinyl tape and put it on the guitar all by myself. What do you guys think?

Looks great, but to get even closer, rip off the scratch plate and get a PAF like humbucker and screw it directly into the wood in bridgeposition Source: valleywebs.com/van-halen/guitars.html

What you really need to do is paint the guitar red, then take the tape off to leave the black stripes. Cos the pattern of stripes you made is pretty kickass, its better than the ones i saw done by these trampy looking guys working for charvel. I dont think the paint is that expensive either

Very rad looking design. I like the idea of painting it black then peeling the tape off to leave the black stripes ;D
