This links on most forums dude! Its a right laugh, just to think that someone would bid on a "1954" Gibson they have seen in 1 pic, and in of all places, Mexico lol I thought i would also note, its probably not a 1954 Gibson from that pic anyway, as 1. It would have a different bridge, 2. I dont think they produced a custom in 54'. Kev

The most expensive GUITAR I saw was Jimi Hendrixs Strat on Ebay just a few weeks ago. Starting bid was I think $750,000 (american) or somewhere around there.

id be careful with stuff like that though. Its probably just a strat that someone beat up a lot and tried to pass off as one of hendrix's

^ Yeah, he supposedly had a notarized statement from someone who used to know Hendrix, that said he was with him when he bought the guitar. It also shows pictures of Hendrix playing a VERY similar looking guitar on stage. It wouldnt be too hard to make a fake, but you would have to be very well connected, very intelligent, and very ballsy to try and pull something like that off. I think it was real, but then again maybe I'm too trusting.

I think the only authentic Jimi Hendrix guitars are locked up. I know one of his and all his orginal pedals are in some England musem with his orignal rotovibe that looked like a cash register. And other at Hard Rock Cafe's

the most expensive guitars ive seen [up close] were a jimi hendrix strat for $17,000 and some on a website for a company that makes customs which were about $10,000....stock. nothing added to it, just the basic components. about $15,000 if you go all out. im not sure what the brand name was, it might have been Poole...

lol i know custom bass strings that cost 20.000 $/string, so depending on howmany strings you have, the actual strings can be more expensive
