Edit 4:56! Ok to make it sound like I'm less of a drug addict I'm almost done my double guitar BUT am having problems I am not sure how to connect the two nicely. I want to be able to switch from a Mike style double guitar to a double neck within a resonable amount of time. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions thanks! THIS THING RULES!

Grrrrr today just got beyond fustrating I am 90 percent done my double guitar but I need help!Any advice would be beyond helpful! I need to connect my double guitar but I want to be able to take it apart so I can go from right to left handed too a normal double neck.I was thinking I could take a nice peice of metal drill it in and than because I could easily do the transition with little effort BUT than I can never play them alone again and I just like them to much to do that. Hahaha I bought these to be expendable but now I love them. Solutions That I thought might work: 1.Use a peice of a wood on back and take the chances of it breaking and having it look bad 2. Use strong tape to connect them (yes it would look retarded) So actually forget that 3.Use Metal on the back and keep it that way forever ( Act Of Desperation ONLY) 4.*Gets Ideas from UNLEASH THE FURY!!!!!!!*( I am ready to do this in like a second) 5.Try and put locks on the back (Don't know what type or how) 6.Put cushining in the middle so the guitars don't hit and than connect them at the middle with hooks 7.I THINK I GOT IT! GLUE THEM hahaha nope 8.Ok I think I really got it this time glue upside screws onto them!!! Than put a back plate onto them and make them securly tight (This would allow me to use them like Mikes guitar or a double neck but would take me at least 5 mins to switch between modes) Pause..... Well I just realized something the plate thing might work the best only because if I had them switch instintaly than I would be damaging the paint and the wood where I would drill into so maybe the whole solid plate connection in the back wouldn't be so bad! . . . what ?

I shall check that site out as of now it's sitting as a double neck roar but it's beyond fun so I must toy with it for an hour or two. If I hadn't lost like 3 of my wires when coming back from my friends house I could use my Boss RC-20 XL to come up with some crazy crap but I don't have enough wires. THIS IS SOO FUN THOUGH! BUT BIG! Whats also cool is how the ones inversed and the other is normal!

Check adam hall for flightcase hardware (I think Mike uses flightcase fittings, or at least used to). www.adamhall.com/

Thanks Blondie! But I think I might just run into some trouble there because I didn't cut the tails on them and really don't want to because in my opion the guitars are well theres just something about them LOL. So anyways I'm definitly checking this website out and if that doesn't work I will install metal plates above the back of my lynch made Ibanez and Sparkle blue Ibanez with screws in them upside down so the screws pointing up, I can than put washers on them and than put 3 long peices of metal that reach from guitar A to guitar B. So it all seems good but it's fustrating because of the wait. Oh yea and I have to fix up the paint on my Tiger guitar because some masking tape I believe it was =o got wrapped on the bottom horn of it and pealed some of the paint off ( The rest of the paint if beyond solid and WILL NOT come off LOL I tried =D)

building guitars is really fun but can be pretty expensive too. right now im making myself a jackson style guitar with a floyd rose and scalloped frets. after that, im gona make an SG style guitar with a floyd rose and scalloped frets, and then eventually a double neck. voodoo, if you need any parts, warmoth.com is an excellent and cheap site for bodies, necks, hardware, and all that kinda stuff.

When starting doing projectguitars warmoth can be a little expensive. Another option is to buy cheap parts/guitars on ebay or just plain guitars like musicyo kramers (starting at $80)
Good Luck Voodoo

If i was rich, I'd make myself a double neck...or even easier, just get one custom made from Dean . Or if we're lucky Mike' signature guitar will be a less pricy double neck. Hey, I can dream, can't I .

Mike is a double axl guitar and it is a real left and rigth guitar, you are saying you want to switch this guitar from double axl to double neck guitar ? ok if you have built a guitar as MAB, then when you switch to have double neck then the left guitar will become a right guitar neck with strings reversed in other words the low E will be at the bottom of the frettboard and high E at the top ? can you explain exactly what are you into ? or mayve i did not understand your point.

I am building a guitar that can either be two seprate guitars or I can connect them and make them like Mike's guitar. But at the same time I am making that when it's open (Mike Style)if I want to I will have the ability to detach and turn it into a normal double neck having the one in standard tunning and the other inverse or in a different tunning.
Anyways tommorow my Moms taking me out shopping and I will take all day if it kills me to find the parts to connect them. Thanks for the advice guys and I know I really need to find a new digi cam too sorry about no pictures yet. Btw I don't think you guys will like the way this thing looks because one is tiger colored and the other one is sparkle blue but theres just something special about them and so I refuse to cut them (which would make the connection easier) or paint the blue one. Lol thanks again!
