I'm wondering what is the best metal Zone setting for shred? Keep in mind i am working with a line 6 amp. You cant really call a "best" dude. For a dimebag like shred sound with a metal zone, boost the bass and treble to about 60% and keep the mid's fairly low say about 30%. Pretty high distortion, around 70% i reckon. For a more angelo tone you'd want bass on about 40- 50%, and boost the highs and mids to about 70%. Finally, keep the distortion low at around 30% and boost volumes instead. If you want a real searing hair metal tone, chuck a nice heap of chorus and delay into the mix too ;D Hope this helps a bit, and... what is the amp (i know its line6)? Solid or valve? Model? Kev

I have a metal zone but can't remember what the settings were when I used it. Just play with it or go to the manufactures site and look for the settings page.

Well, I don't know what kind of amp you have, but keep in mind when I tell you this I have a 120 watt crate 2 x12 combo. So if your Line 6 is something close to this the setting should be fine.
On the clean channel, I have the lows set at 6, the mids at 3, and the highs at 5. If you haven't figured it out, which you probably have, don't layer the Metal Zone on top of your stock distortion on the Line 6.
On the Metal Zone, I have the lows at about 85% and the highs just a hair more, about 87%. I have the mids pointed straight left, which is either 25 or 30%. The mid frequency is about 65% (going closer to the 5k area), and the distortion is about 80%. This gives me a great tone for metal rhythms, and a great tone for shred, using the neck pickup of course.
When I use my SG, I use the neck pickup which is still the stock one, but it has a really fat tone. I can almost get it to sound like Yngwie's tone sometimes when I play some of his material.
Well, good luck finding your tone! It's all about what your preferences are, no one else's, really.
