my favoroite bit was steve vais little wing solo (the tapped one) sounds great!

Yngwie does have a big head, but keep in mind he is a great player. He really pioneered shred. If you want to hear him at work I suggest you buy his first album, Rising Force. In my opinion, that's the only real original Yngwie material. He does have many very well written songs after that album, of course, but they all seem somewhat repetitive to me. Well maybe us Yngwie fans can tell the subtle differences in each of his compositions, but not people just getting into him. You have to get used to his style. If you don't want to buy an album, try to find mp3's of Black Star, Far Beyond the Sun, Evil Eye, Trilogy Suite Op. 5, Baroque and Roll, etc.

No problem, slash. You said that you bought it for satch and vai, and I've never really listened to them. Vai is the only one I've heard, and that was just the neoclassical Paganini - type solo in the movie Crossroads wth Ralph Macchio. I finally have that solo down (very difficult). By the way Macchio does a terrible job acting like he plays that solo. I was wondering if you have any suggestions for any Satch or Vai albums I should check out. I know Vai's big one is Passion and Warfare, and Satch's is Surfing With The Alien. Anything besides that? Also, does anyone know what Tony MacAlpine albums I should check out? By the way, he's one of the guitarists in Vai's Breed, seen on G3 2003. Did anyone else notice when Vai and MacAlpine were having a head - cuttin duel on "I'm The Hell Outta Here" MacAlpine sweeps with his right hand index finger!?

How was he arrogant Yngwie was always based on speed just because he was taking the leads doesn't mean he was arrogant. His playing is amazing it's just because he'd burn our guitars any day probally lol. What arrogance did you meet him lol? Yea the taps are cool I have notes for all instruments to that song I was gonna memorize it but it seemed stupid to learn each differents person solo because it was 3 guitarist's and having only one would be weird

Rising Force was an amazing album but I'd say check out Rising Force Oddessey, now that was cool because it's was more Metal like and I love the tone I have no clue how he made his strats sound so powerful Grr that makes me mad when people are like he's so repetitive. Because! He was based off a single group of tones which were the harmonic modes which limits him. Plus making that many amazing songs with all those solos could be hard to. I've seen him re-use a riff or two but it really doesn't matter because he changes them and makes them just sound so good. But either way 99 percent of his music has no repeats and he is very original so you can't say his music is lame

Very true, Voodoochild. I myself don't think he's repetitive, but I'm trying to tell people new to him that you have to understand what the man is playing before you assume he's tasteless. Come on now, I'm a die hard Yngwie fan as I'm sure you are, and also as we're all die hard MAB fans. How can we rip on the maestros?
