mounting my .bin .cue files

my cousin sent me 2 VCD discs worth a video on a USB data stick:

disc1.bin + (the corresponding .cue file)

disc2.bin + (the corresponding .cue file)

i tried to mount the .cue(s) to a virtual drive with daemon tools...i got the error: "unable to mount image. Invalid image file"

so i tried to mount the .bin(s) instead with daemontools...i got no error. but as i tried to explore the virtual drive/play it with powerDVD...it said no disc in drive and windows does not recognise


so i tried with alcohol 120% instead...

upon mounting the .cue files i got the error " Cue sheet: line 1 - FILE command must appear before any other commands."

i couldnt even try to mount the .bin with alcohol 120% as when i tried to add it to the list, it automatically added the .cue file.


therefore i came to the conclusion that something (filewise) is corrupt.
but i cant just give up, as it's pretty important that i get it to work.

so i tried to just simply open the .cue files with NERO burning rom...and try that...i got a long error which i didnt even understand.

finally at the end of my tether...i have downloaded a program to try and convert the .bin files to .ISO files....in the hope that alchohol 120% will mount those without error (although i doubt it)

im going to try this now...and post my results...

PLEASE HELP, if you know a solution...other than getting my cousin to re-create the files in the hope that they wont be corrupt...this isn't an option, as i wont be seeing him for some time.
i just will have to work with what i have got.
so please help if you know your stuff about this kind of thing,

thanks anyway mate, in simple terms i just wanna get my video file to run. but i've been given it in weird files that i cant open.

"EDIT: UPDATE!" i used "MagicISO" to try and convert the .bin files to ISO files...i just got the error "Can't find the file or file isn't CD image file!"

so i tried to use magiciso to burn a CD with the .bin file...i got the same error as above

cheers Klaus, but "“CD/DVD emulator” software will translate the bin, dat, and cue movie files to be a virtual CD-DVD optical drive." is what it says to do on the link. that's exactly what i've been trying to do, but the problem is that i get errors when i try to do it (presumable becacuse either the bin or cue files are corrupt, at a guess)

I don't know specifically about data sticks or oot like that, but for ripping video files from VCD i always use "IsoBuster", you could try that... you can download it for free.

ok to use bin files, copy them to ur hardrive, then use nero and follow these instructions(nero 6 or higher)

Now click Cancel then click the File tab then Options (preferences if you are using Nero 6.6)

Click the Expert Features tab then tick Enable Disc-at-once CD Overburning and change

the time to 84 mins. Also tick Enable generation of short lead out if you have that option

Click apply then click ok, jobs done

Now onto burning the actual bin/cue files that you have to CD-R

Locate the folder where your downloaded KVCD is then right click with your mouse on the cue file and chose Open With

If you are using v7 then you have to Click the browse button and go to the Nero/Nero 7/Core folder in your program files

Nero 6 users have to Click the browse button and go to the Ahead/Nero folder in your program files

Click on the open button you after that Nero should open up and all you have to do now is pick your burn speed

Note: Also in future when your right click on a cue file the option should be there to open it with Nero so you dont have to go through all that again

tried it...and i get the same prob...when i open the cue file with nero...then i get

"an error occured while loading the cue sheet file "C:\blahblah-directory-of-the-cue-file-blah". line 1"

You need to open your cue file and check to see that it references the correct bin file. Just open it with notepad. I have had this issue happen lots of times and 99% of the time it was the cue not referencing the bin file correctly.

If this doesn't work...
Forget about the cue file and use WinIso to convert the bin file...
If this doesn't work my guess is the file is corrupted.
