Hey guys we been recording in my house all week and i finally got a decent sounding mix (nothing like a pro one would be though, but good enough). The two songs are pending on myspace so should be up by the end of the day. The songs: - Shock 'Em Dead! - Our title/signature track and this pretty much sums up our sound, Cheesey, catchy, and soooo 80's lol. The first solo is done by me and the second by Andy. The solos arnt particularly techinical we went more for musicallity and genre specific than jsut a shredfest, haha. Touch The Skies - Super cheesey ballas complete with choir and orchestra. Breathtaking solo by Andy. See what you guys think and any tips for the mixing would be great too. www.myspace.com/shockemdeadband

The production is good enough for a cheap demo CD except it's kind of hard to hear the singer's words in the first song, a little muffled or too much reverb or something. I didn't listen to the second song all the way through
but I liked 'shock em dead' pretty catchy

I've made it like 14 seconds, but here's my review already: Awesome, but vocals need help.

thanks for the comments, how do you mean the vocals need help? Louder in the mix, doubled? or what?

seemed really cool especially shock em dead which was definately catchy and guitar lines delivered exiting rythym parts as well well thought out and played guitar solos
didnt listen to much of other song but the piano and synths seemed very well panned out gives a great feeling to the song pC

Pretty cool, definitely very 80s The mixing job is decent, but could be much better. Firstly, the reverb on the vocals doesn't work, way too wet. Use a lower % wet/dry ratio, or try a different reverb/delay. It's because of the reverb that the vocals sound distant/unclear. Also secondly, the guitars sound very odd, I think you used some kind of weird compressor on the guitar. The volume jumps around way too much.. In fact after listening more, I think you probably used the compressor on the final mix. The volume seems to compress when the drummer is using the bass drum. Whatever the case, the compressor is way too aggressive. Distortion guitar doesn't even need compressor because the signal is already compressed. Thirdly, make the drums louder. As Mike says, hope this helps.

tthanks for the comments ralphalf.
wow aku you can tell all that jsut by listneing to it?? Haha your absolutly right! Ill take your ideas into consideration deifnitly. IF we ever were going to make a demo CD id probably pay a pro mixer to do this like, i dont really have much of a clue.

since I'm also a fan of the cheesy glam metal world...I really enjoyed it, nice job, I think a lot of the stuff aku said made sense, I couldn't hear the vocals all that well
