Hi! I have used the backingtrack from the last Speed kills 3 "monsterlick 2" to improvise a solo.

I think its great that you have the courage to go ahead and put your playing out there.
Having said that, you have so much work to do its hard to know how to best help you. I would suggest you find a teacher to work on a myriad of things.
Your guitar is out of tune, fix that first...
You need to work alot on shaping notes, and just getting a better sound out of the instrument. Work on your time, that and a nicer touch would make this alot better.
The note choice and fast runs, I can see you are just playing whatever... hoping to nail fast lines. That needs to change, work on trying to play exactly what you hear and control those lines. Right now, its all rushed and it feels like you are just holding your breath and playing whatever your fingers can get a hold of.
I would not submit your playing to judges and competitions until that all has gotten ten fold better... I hope so of this helps you.
Work hard, and be honest with yourself... I think your playing could go somewhere with years of hard work and practice. Hear yourself, that is most important, notice why im saying these things, and work to fix them.

first of all Thanks for taking your time to criticize.=) I must say that when I recorded it I was in a hurry to send it in less then two days to get into the contest. I was just sitting with a friend of mine and I improvise the hole thing, the problem was that we got really tired of getting it to sound good, so when I recorded the last time I just mixed a little with the amp and ended upwith a very funny sound. And then I played and I wasn't very serious and without thinking I played some licks , which I felt fitted very nicely afterwards. My friend thought it was great and we took that one, though if it was some mistakes.

Im sorry, the problem goes beyond production or "rushing to get it done"... this is not very good playing period. You need to work on your touch and just how to shape notes altogether. The fast playing is just that, random fast muscle twitching... you need to coordinate both your hands so they sync up. You need to tune your guitar, and make sure that you can hit notes in tune, bends in tune... everything in tune. The time, it needs alot of work, phrases... not just LICKS. Note choice, you need to consider what is beneath you when you play... you have to make a statement against the backing track and not just OVER it. The note choice was mostly just random moving of the hands in the faster lines. Im sorry to be so rude I just want to give you a fair and honest answer to your thread so that you can listen to yourself more carefully and improve over time. Again, you are years away, not hours or moments... its hard work that will pay off if you put in the time. Take your time, and be patient, but always try to stay truthful with yourself and your playing... it will lead to great progress over the years.

yes I now what you mean. I'm not very proud of that recording, but the hole contest is just so badly done overall, which makes (at the moment) the worst solo go at the top just depending how much friends he has. I know how much time you need to put down on a solo to make it perfect. I have also recorded a fulltime No boundaries - MAB which I nailed, and with that song I spend i lot of time to make it right. I have just played five years and I'm trying to get better, your advises is great for me =)

Do you have the recording of you playing something you are proud of? I would like to hear it... i think I could get to a better angle on what advice to give to you, more specific moments to point out.

Well, at the moment I haven't any recordings that have the sound quality that worth listening. It would be fun to send you a track when I have recorded it.

Yes, but sometimes it can be destroying if the soundquality is bad. I have my own computer at repair so I don't have any of my song at the moment, I hope I will get it back this weak. though they aren't very serious done by me, cause I don't record so much and when I do I'm just testing sounds and effects and practising scales and so on. Can I send it by email, or do you prefer another way?

ok maybe you should compose thoroughly first and then learn, that sounded like shredding for shreddings sake. lots of mechanical errors, tuning, intonation etc like roberto said. i heard no sense of phrasing thats good at all, sweeps and alternate picking lines are cool but unless done properly and with good links between all your notes it will just sound average. theres not much more that i can say that hasn't been said previously but my best advice is to study your fretting hand a lot more, film it, slow it down etc. i was like you before so dont sweat it.

(Okey, I see if I can send anything next weak. ) Well I have done some of that things to see how I'm playing but it just ended up by i'm imprevising for fun instead of studing . I don't now exactly how to practise my sounding, I just learn a phrase and play it all over untill I can play it when I'm sleeping ^^ but the way I play is hard to change. As I said earlier the solo really was bad, cause I'm just imprevising. I maight re-record it all over again and make it more serious and clear sounding. I have bought a new guitar and have some problems with the tuning. I'm not so used to floyd Rose and I have spent some hours of tuning it the right way, but it still gets out of tune. irritating
