I am very keen on Deep Purple. The guys i mean of course are: Ritchie Blackmore (guitar) , Ian Gillan (vocals) , Ian Paice (drums) , Roger Glover (bass) , Jon Lord (organ) , they made Hard Rock and Metal thats sure !

Helter Skelter by Beatles is kind of heavy. Released in 68 the year Zep was formed.

From those bands, the best one overall, IMHO, is probably Black Sabbath. They released tons of amazing music.

Of the bands listed, I'd have to say Led Zep had the strongest influence on me. I followed their music for years. My first public performance as a female guitarist was "Stairway to Heaven". I found Zep songs were easier for me to fake and if I sang the lyrics real loud, no one noticed how badly I butchered the guitar parts! It was kind of like "Smoke on the Water". In the beginning, we all played it, but played it wrong.

ya but he's a great bass player, and the guitarist is phenominal, and the drummer is great! they're a great band, regardless of geddy sounding a little woman-ly ;D

Yeah but simply rush cant beat the other listed bands . It is more than virtuosity , when you are about to compare bands

Nitro. But out of the given bands.. Definitely Judas Priest.

I agree with Aku -once more-, out of the listed the Priest rules alone.

My favourite is Guns N' Roses. It's fairly simple - I love their music.
Shouldn't Van Halen be on that list though?
