General discussion of what you think of the Peavey Vypyr Modeling amp. I got the 30 watt and I want to know if that is good enough.

I just bought my Daughter the 30watt to start learning with. She has wanted to learn for awhile. I haven't played through one thou but the demos on youtube looked good enough. She is going to use my guitars until I pick one out for her. I was thinking on a Dean or Ibanez in the $200 range. Here is my oldest Daughter

They are smaller and less weight and makes it easier for smaller hands. I got my daughter one last year.

Those Deans that are made out of Paulownia wood are insanely light. And the MLs have the 24.75" scale, which would be a little better for smaller hands. So like the basic Dean ML-X?

I say just get her a guitar that she likes and if it's too big for her then get her a capo.

How can muscles turn to fat? That's incredible how people can even think that.
Anyway, I was going to buy a Peavey Vypyr as an old friend from the forum suggested one but I decided my RP350 was decent enough for recording without an amp.

How bout comparisons between the Peavy Vypyr 30 Watt to Line 6 30 Watt Modeling Amp, if I want a more metal sound which one should I pick

I'd say the Peavey is pretty versatile and I'd go with that, I'm not familiar with Line 6 although their digital stuff is decent.

Personally, after recently trying both I prefer line 6. I tried the higher watt amps thou, can't really say about the 30's.

I liked the peavey vypyr when i tested it out even though the line 6 is easier and quicker to use i liked the sound of the peavey better

I preferred the sound, the easiness of editing. I was actually pretty disappointed with the vypers sound. I have always been into Peavey's I just feel it fell short. Line 6 has come along way IMO since the spider II I had. Maybe one of the bigger versions of the vyper would have struck my fancy, but based on what I had available to try, I went with a 120watt 2x10 spider 4. Just personal preference man really. It isn't a bad amp ... just, IMO, missing the tones I was looking for/expecting.

Alright thank you I might get the Line 6 but I'm still deciding, if anyone has any more comments tell me I need to know before I start throwing away money.
