i think looking calm while playing crazy guitar solo's is easy. Dl the video of eric johnson :cliffs of dover, live austin city limits. now that is an example of someone calm while they fly across the fretboard. i think its just another gimmick when guitar players emulate the expressions of an orgasm while playing guitar solo's. its just a funny thing to do.

Well, it seems that it's individual thing, too. Personally, it's really hard for me to have my face calm. I practice at home and there is nobody to see me, and nobody I could perform gimmicks to, but I still catch my self doing strange faces, unconsciously.

Mike actually practiced to play without facial expressions, untill a girl told him that face expressions were sexy ;D There will be changes to the board after the 10.000th post contest has ended, let's see what happens I found it on a map, it's quite sound, don't think I can make it I'll have to check price with the danish railroad company... maybe You cou do me a favour and check with the German?? Back and forth between Odense Denmark and Frankfurt am Main

Hello everyone. I am in Florida now performing for the next week. I try my best to post as often as I can. Deb, Luke and Blondie have done a fantastic job. Try as I may, I cannot answer every single post. I am sorry. I have discussed with Deb the creation of a database of technical questions and my answers to them. This is something we are seriously looking into. Thanks for your support.

I practice at home and there is nobody to see me, and nobody I could perform gimmicks to, but I still catch my self doing strange faces, unconsciously. It's a lot harder than you think! I have noticed many guitarists tend to move their lips to the notes. Michael never does this! You will see emotion on his face during an intense solo as he is the conduit between the music and the audience. But funny faces? Never! Controlling facial expressions comes with many hours of practice, practice, practice!

Michael your songs contain tempo and groove changes and lot of subtle sonic textures. Did you create the arrangements in the studio or did you already have these ideas sussed out before you started tracking

Does your interaction with the crowd dictate your on stage emotions (your playing) ?

What is your favorite part of doing clinics? And how are the ones in Florida going?
