So........... i figured i'd have a go at making a list of all the guitars i know Shawn Lane has used over the years since he was a kid (either his own, or ones he had just borrowed or tried out), using photos and Screenshots i've took..... so here goes..... A young Shawn in his first band, with a white Tele : Shawn around the age of 14 in his band "Tyfoyd" (notice his 'Home made' Tyfoyd Tee-shirt) : I think the guitar Shawn is using in this photo (with The Willy's) may be the same Washburn EC29 he is using in this video : Here is Shawn and Alex Masi (the first time they ever met), with Alex's red Charvel : Shawn using a Les Paul (belonging to Buddy Davis), in May 1989 : Shawn's custom 24 fret Ibanez Sabre : Shawn playing a Blue Strat (belonging to Joe Duke) at Alfred's, Memphis, on the 26th Sept 1992 Shawn's beautiful Ibanez "Powers of 10" custom guitar (based on the Ghostrider, or vice versa) Including these photos of it i saved from the guy who was trying to sell it on eBay a few years ago for $100,000 Playing a white Tele Shawn at NAMM, 19th Jan 1995 : Then onto Vigier..... And Shawn with Richard Hallebeek's 'Brian Moore C90' (from the same session as the above photo) : .... not forgetting the two 'Fretless' Vigier's Shawn had over the years..... here's the first one at NAMM on the 18th Jan 1997 : .... and here's the second one, in March 2001 : Rimini May 1998 Warsaw 19th June 1998 Rimini May 1999 Rimini May 2000 Godin Synth guitar : Just to be fair, here are a few acoustics too..... Anyway... believe it or not this post took all day to prepare and type up, hehe.... so hopefully someone out there will see it.

This is brilliant! It must have taken a lot of effort. Shawn deserves a lot more recognition.

When I saw the thread title, I thought you were going to say you bought all of them. Lol.
I love the Ibby PoT & his Vigier. Great guitars. It's when Ibanez gave a *** too.
I hope Willie doesn't win the lottery otherwise his wife will have to move out to make space for the guitars. (you know you've considered it Will. Lol)

Not to make excuses for him since I'm anti-drugs but I'm sure the only drug Shawn took regularly was Cannabis which is well known for it's pain-killing properties. I don't think Shawn was like the number of people you see in Camden just off their face for no reason. I've no idea how painful HIS arthritis was but my Dad has arthritis in his left hand and says it's ridiculously painful at times, so maybe that's the reason he smoked cannabis?
Cocaine was also used as a pain-killer many years ago but I don't think Shawn dabbled with that at all. (?)

He had a monster morphine addiction... which in the end, is like heroin in a sense. In part, I'm sure it had to do with his psoriasis (which was arthritic)... but, alas, its still a strong drug. Yep, just Canabis.... then in the last few years when his pain with Arthritis became more extreme...... Morphine.
Sad indeed.

So only medicinal drugs.
Of course Morphine is addictive (like all drugs), but I don't blame him for using it. He was apparently in severe pain towards the end of his life.
I don't view Shawn as a druggie/junkie like pieces of *** like Pete Doherty & the multitudes of 80's rockers which was my point. If there was no pain, there'd almost certainly be no drug taking on Shawn's part.
The smoking however wasn't the smartest move.

Wow i hadnt heard about his drug taking? ALL drugs are addicitve, even the like of Paracetomol and stuff can be addictive. Id never heard this about Shawn, such a shame, but who knows what you owuld do if you were in that much pain?

but who knows what you would do if you were in that much pain? Exactly. I have no sympathy for those who get addicted to drugs from just taking them but I do for Shawn. We shouldn't judge him unless we've been in that much pain and can envision having that 90% of the day everyday. The most pain I had was when I done my knee in falling over in a gym hall so if I had that everyday, I would probably resort to using cannabis (not smoking though) to alleviate it.
